Last updated: 22 August 2026. This agreement is between you (“the vendor”) and JigjigaSale (“we”, “us”), the online marketplace operating at jigjigasale.com in Jigjiga, Ethiopia. By listing a product for sale on JigjigaSale you accept these terms.
1. Your account
You apply for a vendor account and we approve it. You must give us a real business or personal name, a working phone number, and a physical address in or around Jigjiga where a driver can collect goods. Keep those details up to date in Store Settings — we use them to reach you about orders and to pay you.
Your account is yours alone. You are responsible for anything done through it, so do not share your password. Tell us immediately if you think someone else has access.
2. Your listings
Every product you submit is reviewed by our staff before it appears on the site. We may approve it, or reject it with a reason, or ask you to correct a category or photograph. A listing that is live can still be taken down later if it turns out to breach these terms.
What you list must be accurate. The photographs must be of the actual item you are selling. The price must be the price the customer pays, and the condition — new, used, imported — must be stated honestly. If a product has variations, each one must have its own correct price and stock count.
You may not list anything you are not legally allowed to sell in Ethiopia; counterfeit or replica goods; medicines, weapons, or restricted substances; anything stolen; or anything you cannot actually supply. Listing an item you do not have in order to gauge interest is not permitted.
You keep ownership of your product photographs and descriptions. By listing, you give us permission to display them on the site, in the app, and in marketing for the marketplace, including on social media.
3. Orders: accepting and declining
When a customer orders from you, the order arrives in your Seller Center and waits for your decision. You either accept it or decline it.
Accepting means you have the item and will have it packed and ready for a driver. Declining requires a reason, which the customer is shown. If the customer has already paid, they are refunded in full.
Please decide promptly — the customer is waiting and, on a paid order, so is their money. Repeatedly declining orders, or leaving them undecided, affects your standing on the marketplace and may lead to suspension under section 9.
Some orders are paid on delivery rather than in advance. In that case no money exists until our driver collects it from the customer, and the order screen will tell you so before you accept.
4. Getting the parcel to the customer
Once you accept an order, pack the item and mark it ready for pickup in your Seller Center. We arrange a driver to collect it from your address and deliver it. You do not arrange your own delivery unless we have agreed otherwise in writing.
Print the shipping label from the order screen and attach it to the parcel. The label shows only your own items — if an order contains goods from more than one vendor, each of you packs your own part.
The item must be packed well enough to survive the journey. If an item arrives damaged because it was inadequately packed, the cost of putting that right is yours.
5. Commission and what you earn
We charge a commission of 3 % on the value of the items you sell. The commission is calculated on your items only, not on the customer’s whole basket and not on the delivery fee.
Your order screen shows the arithmetic for every order: your items subtotal, the platform fee deducted, and the amount left for you. Your Wallet shows the same figures added up.
Earnings accrue once an order has been accepted and is being fulfilled, and are finalized when it is completed. A cancelled or refunded order earns nothing.
We will give you at least 7 days notice in writing before changing the commission rate. A change never applies to orders already placed.
6. Getting paid
Your available balance appears in Wallet & Payouts. When you want to be paid, you request a withdrawal and give us the destination — a bank account, Telebirr, CBE, or another mobile-money number.
You can have one withdrawal request open at a time, and you cannot request more than your available balance. We aim to pay within [ 7 DAYS ] working days of the request. Payment is made to the details you give us, and it is your responsibility to give them correctly — we cannot recover money sent to a wrong number you supplied.
We may hold a payout while an order is disputed, while a refund is outstanding, or while we are investigating a possible breach of these terms. If we do, we will tell you why.
7. Cancellations, returns and refunds
A customer may cancel before the item has been dispatched. After that, whether an item can be returned depends on what it is and why — we will contact you and reach a decision together.
If a refund is owed because the item was not as described, was faulty, or was never sent, the cost comes out of your earnings. If it is owed because of something we or our driver did wrong, it does not.
Where an order is cancelled after you declined it, the order closes and is no longer yours to work on. Our staff can reopen it for you if the decline was a mistake.
8. How you deal with customers
Customer messages reach you through the Seller Center. Answer them promptly and politely. Do not ask a customer to pay you directly, off the platform — the order and its protections exist on JigjigaSale, and taking payment outside it is grounds for immediate suspension.
Customers may rate and review what they buy. You may respond, but you may not offer anything in exchange for a review, write reviews of your own products, or pressure a customer to change one.
Customer contact details are given to you so you can fulfil an order. Use them for that and nothing else. Do not add customers to marketing lists or pass their details to anyone.
9. Suspension and ending this agreement
You can stop selling at any time. Tell us, and we will close your store once your open orders are delivered and your final balance is paid.
We may suspend or close your store if you breach these terms, if you repeatedly fail to fulfil orders you accepted, if you sell prohibited goods, if you take payment off the platform, or if we are required to by law. Where the reason allows it, we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right.
If your store is closed, money already earned on completed orders remains yours and will be paid out, less anything owed for refunds or chargebacks.
10. Responsibility
You are the seller of your goods. You are responsible for their quality, their legality, their description, and for any warranty or after-sales obligation that comes with them. JigjigaSale is the marketplace and the delivery service between you and the customer, not the manufacturer or importer of what you sell.
We do our best to keep the site running and orders moving, but we cannot promise uninterrupted service, and we are not liable for business you lose through an outage, a delivery delay outside our control, or a customer who changes their mind.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update this agreement. If a change materially affects you — the commission rate, how you are paid, or what you may sell — we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to sell after that means you accept the change.
12. Law and disputes
This agreement is governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. If something goes wrong between us, talk to us first — most things are settled with a phone call. Anything that cannot be settled that way goes to the competent courts of Ethiopia.
