These Courier Terms govern your participation as a courier (“Courier”) on JigjigaSale. They apply in addition to our general Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy. By applying to deliver or by accepting deliveries on JigjigaSale, you agree to these Courier Terms.
1. Your Relationship with JigjigaSale
You deliver as an independent contractor, not an employee of JigjigaSale. You are responsible for your own vehicle, licence, taxes, and for delivering safely and lawfully. JigjigaSale provides the platform that connects you with delivery jobs and handles dispatch and settlement.
2. Becoming a Courier
To deliver on JigjigaSale you must apply and be approved. You agree to provide accurate personal, vehicle, and identity information — which may include a national ID, driving licence, and vehicle details — and to keep it current. You must be legally permitted to drive the vehicle you use. We may approve, decline, or later suspend Courier accounts at our discretion, including where documents are invalid or activity risks harm.
3. Accepting and Completing Deliveries
- When you are assigned a delivery, you may accept or decline it. If you accept, you agree to collect the order from the vendor and deliver it to the customer promptly and in good condition.
- You must confirm pickup and delivery in the app, and, where required, collect the customer’s delivery code or proof of delivery.
- Handle all goods with care. You are responsible for the order from pickup until it is delivered or properly returned.
4. Cash on Delivery (COD) Handling
For Cash on Delivery orders, you collect the full order amount from the customer at delivery. You keep your delivery fee and remit the remaining amount to JigjigaSale (or the vendor, as directed) according to the reconciliation process. You are responsible for the cash you collect until it is remitted, and for keeping accurate records. Failure to remit collected funds is a serious breach and may lead to suspension and recovery of the amounts owed.
5. Your Earnings and Payouts
You earn a delivery fee for completed deliveries. Where you keep your fee from COD collections, it is netted against what you remit; for prepaid orders, your fees are paid out according to the payout schedule and method on file. We may hold or adjust amounts related to disputed, failed, or fraudulent deliveries.
6. Conduct and Safety
- Drive safely and obey all traffic and road-safety laws.
- Be professional, courteous, and respectful to customers, vendors, and staff.
- Do not open, tamper with, use, or damage the goods you carry.
- Protect customer information and use it only to complete the delivery.
7. Ratings
Customers may rate your delivery service. Ratings help maintain quality on the Platform. Consistently poor ratings, complaints, or policy breaches may lead to fewer assignments, suspension, or removal.
8. Prohibited Courier Conduct
- Failing to remit collected COD funds.
- Delivering to the wrong person, faking deliveries, or misusing delivery codes.
- Harassing or endangering customers, vendors, or the public.
- Any fraudulent, unsafe, or unlawful activity.
9. Suspension and Termination
You may stop delivering at any time, subject to completing or properly returning any accepted deliveries and remitting any funds owed. We may suspend or terminate your Courier account for breach of these Courier Terms, legal risk, or harm to customers, vendors, or the Platform. Amounts you owe remain payable after termination.
10. Liability and Insurance
You are responsible for your vehicle and for operating it safely and legally, including any insurance required by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you are responsible for loss or damage caused by your negligence or breach, and you agree to indemnify JigjigaSale against claims arising from your deliveries or conduct. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited under Ethiopian law.
11. Changes to These Courier Terms
We may update these Courier Terms from time to time. We will update the “Last updated” date, and your continued use of the Courier tools after changes take effect means you accept them.
12. Governing Law and Contact
