Welcome to JigjigaSale. These Terms & Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the JigjigaSale website, mobile experience, and services (together, the “Platform”). By creating an account, browsing, buying, or selling on JigjigaSale, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.
1. About JigjigaSale
JigjigaSale is an online multi-vendor marketplace that connects independent sellers (“Vendors”) with buyers (“Customers”) in Ethiopia. JigjigaSale provides the technology, storefront, order management, and delivery coordination that make these transactions possible.
Unless expressly stated otherwise, JigjigaSale is not the seller of the products listed by Vendors. Each Vendor is responsible for their own listings, pricing, stock, product quality, and legal compliance. JigjigaSale acts as an intermediary marketplace and a delivery facilitator.
2. Definitions
- Platform — the JigjigaSale website, apps, and related services.
- Vendor / Seller — a registered business or individual who lists and sells products on the Platform.
- Customer / Buyer — a person who browses or purchases products through the Platform.
- Courier / Driver — a delivery agent, whether operated by JigjigaSale or a partner, who transports orders to Customers.
- COD — Cash on Delivery, a payment method where the Customer pays for the order at the time of delivery.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
To buy or sell on JigjigaSale you must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Ethiopian law. When you create an account you agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information and to keep it up to date.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Notify us immediately if you suspect any unauthorized use. We may suspend or close accounts that violate these Terms, provide false information, or are used for fraudulent or unlawful activity.
4. Using the Platform as a Customer
When you place an order, you make an offer to purchase the selected product(s) from the relevant Vendor at the listed price, plus any applicable delivery fee. An order is confirmed once you receive an order confirmation, but a Vendor may decline or cancel an order if the item is out of stock, mispriced, or otherwise unavailable.
You agree to provide a correct delivery address and a reachable phone number, and to be available to receive your order. Product images and descriptions are provided by Vendors; while we encourage accuracy, minor variations in color or appearance may occur.
5. Selling on the Platform as a Vendor
Vendors must apply and be approved before listing products. By selling on JigjigaSale, you agree to:
- List only products you are legally entitled to sell, with honest descriptions, accurate pricing, and truthful stock levels.
- Fulfil confirmed orders promptly and hand them over to the assigned courier in good, agreed condition.
- Comply with all applicable Ethiopian laws, including consumer-protection, tax, and product-safety requirements.
- Respond to Customer and support inquiries in a reasonable time.
JigjigaSale may remove listings, withhold payouts related to disputed or fraudulent orders, or suspend Vendor accounts that breach these Terms. Vendor payouts are settled according to the payout schedule and any applicable platform commission communicated to the Vendor.
6. Orders, Pricing, and Payment
All prices are shown in Ethiopian Birr (Br) and, unless stated otherwise, exclude delivery fees, which are displayed before you confirm an order. We currently support Cash on Delivery (COD), and may add additional payment methods over time. Where COD is used, payment is collected by the courier at delivery.
We work to keep pricing accurate, but errors can occur. If a product is listed at an incorrect price, the Vendor or JigjigaSale may cancel the affected order and, where payment was already taken, arrange a refund.
7. Delivery
Orders are delivered by JigjigaSale couriers or approved delivery partners to the address you provide. Estimated delivery times are indicative and not guaranteed, and may be affected by location, weather, stock, or other factors outside our control.
For security, you may be asked to confirm a delivery code or provide proof of receipt when your order is handed over. If delivery cannot be completed because you are unavailable or the address is incorrect, additional attempts or fees may apply.
8. Cancellations, Returns, and Refunds
You may cancel an order before it has been dispatched, subject to the Vendor’s confirmation. Once an order is out for delivery, cancellation may not be possible. Returns and refunds are handled in line with our Refund and Returns Policy, which forms part of these Terms.
Where a product is defective, damaged, or materially different from its description, you may be entitled to a replacement or refund as set out in that policy. Please inspect your order at delivery and report any issues promptly through your account or our support channels.
9. Prohibited Products and Conduct
You may not use the Platform to list, sell, buy, or promote anything that is illegal, unsafe, counterfeit, stolen, or restricted under Ethiopian law. Prohibited activity also includes:
- Fraud, misrepresentation, or manipulation of prices, reviews, or ratings.
- Uploading harmful code, scraping the Platform, or interfering with its operation or security.
- Harassing, threatening, or abusing other users, Vendors, couriers, or staff.
- Attempting to complete transactions outside the Platform to avoid fees or protections.
10. Reviews and User Content
You may be able to post reviews, ratings, images, or other content. You are responsible for what you post and must ensure it is honest, lawful, and not offensive or misleading. By posting content you grant JigjigaSale a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to use, display, and distribute that content on the Platform. We may remove content that violates these Terms.
11. Intellectual Property
The JigjigaSale name, logo, design, and Platform software are the property of JigjigaSale and are protected by law. You may not copy, modify, or reuse them without our written permission. Product images and brand names remain the property of their respective owners and Vendors.
12. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability
The Platform is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. While we work hard to keep it reliable and secure, we do not guarantee that it will always be uninterrupted or error-free. To the fullest extent permitted by law, JigjigaSale is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts, omissions, products, or content of Vendors and third parties.
Nothing in these Terms excludes any rights you have under mandatory Ethiopian consumer-protection law.
13. Dispute Resolution and Governing Law
We encourage you to contact us first so we can help resolve any issue quickly and fairly. These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, and any dispute that cannot be resolved amicably shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of Ethiopia.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services or the law. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
